What should I think about when getting a new logo designed?
You should think if you want a illustrative logo ( a logo that includes an illustrative representation of what your company does), a graphic logo (a logo that includes a graphic - or abstract - representation of what your company does), or a font-based logo (a dynamic type treatment that is unique to your company), or a combination of all three.
You should also consider the future usage's of your logo as this can determine the technical set up of your design and might pose some design limitations can advise you of these limitations and possible workarounds). You should also consider color choices - whether you utilize a two spot color, or four color process design will greatly impact any reproduction rates in the future. Once again, we can advise you on the ways to maximize your reproduction possibilities while maintaining your logo dynamics.
Can my logo be ordered and designed completely over the web?
Yes. 100% of our logo design projects are web-based. Your requirements can be submitted online. This information is passed on to our on-staff designers who will create your logo to your specifications (color, concept, content and usage). They will then post your logo in -progress via our password protected STUDIO FLOOR.
You will be issued a unique code so that you can visit this restricted access site and preview your logo, and at the same time post revisions and suggestions, all without leaving your office. Once your logo is completed, you can download ALL the required file formats directly from this area. Once your logo is created, you can work with us to create web design, animation and stationery etc in the same manner.
How long does the process take?
For logo design initial concepts, depending on the package selected, it would take 3-5 days. For each revision round requested it would take 1-2 days.
For Mascot or character design it would take 4-5 days for the initial concept and 1-2 days for each revision round. For website design, it would take 4-5 days for the initial draft and 3-4 days for each revision.
How much input do you need from me?
Creating a logo or corporate identity is a team work between the client and the designer. It would help if you could think about your brand strategy and offer possible direction that the design should take.
If you do not have any ideas, that is fine. We will use our experience and research to try and come up with effective designs. If you have ideas then by all means you are welcome to share them with the designer.
What if I am not happy with the initial concepts presented?
When we show you the initial concepts and you are not happy with them, then you can cancel the project. You will not be required to pay the balance of the project fees. However the initial deposit you paid is not refundable.
In case you do like them but would like to see a few more ideas, then we charge additional per new concept.
Who owns the logo design?
Once you have paid for the project in full and recieve the final files, you own 100% rights to the final logo design. Our company owns the rights to the rejected concepts.
This does not protect you from some one else copying your logo design when you start using it. For that you would have to apply for a trademark with the United States Patent Office directly or through a trademark attorney.
Will I be able to talk to my designer?
You will have the direct phone number of your lead designer.
You can call your lead designer during the project to discuss changes, revisions and other design related issues that you might have.
How will I get the final files?
Once the project is complete, we will provide you a download of all the final files.
You get two sets of final files:
Vector files (EPS and AI) - These are for your printer and future designer. These files can be opened with any vector editing software such as Adobe Illustrator.
Web files (JPG and GIF) - These are for your use. JPG files can be used in word or any other Microsoft application such as Excel etc. GIF files can be used on your web pages since they have a transparent background.
