Allmerica Financial Corporation, a division of Hanover Insurance has been around since 1995 and it held a diversified group of insurance and financial services companies with total assets of $19 billion. Allmerica Financial products included insurance and retirement savings accounts and group benefit programs, mostly variable annuity and variable life products. I actually thought this company was called All America Financial when I first saw it and realized only later that it was not so.
The Allmerica financial services logo design is a great iconic logo that has a pyramid incorporating a great icon of an eagle (side profile). Surrounding the icon is a circular swoosh and below the whole design are the words Allmerican Financial.
I like this logo a lot. The icon is quite nice. This logo was designed by BrandEquity, a Massachusetts based visual marketing and brand communications firm. They have created a lot of popular brands including Bank of Boston, Kodak, Levi’s, Volunteers of America and more. All their brands dating back to the 1960′s are quite iconic and timeless. For example, the icon they created for Colonial in 1966 looks as if it were designer yesterday. Another great example if the logo for Goodwill Industries which shows a lego like iconic face which looks so contemporary. Or what about the iconic logo of the Boston Five Bank of a silhouette of a bison.
