NCCA Unveils 2009 Final Four Logo

final-four-ncaa.gifAs early as now, the National Collegiate Athletic Associated (NCAA) is already prepared for the 2009 Final Four for the Division I men’s basketball team, which will be held in at Ford Field stadium in Detroit.

Recently, NCAA together with GM CEO and Chairman Rick Wagoner has unveiled the official logo featuring a wheel, purple flames and the big Final Four text. One can only assume the wheel is used to represent General Motor’s massive support to this upcoming and very popular tournament.

Why is NCAA such a big deal? Aside from very ardent basketball fans very excited to show their support to their alma mater, the Final Four is also expected to generate about $75 million for the local economy. Depending on the outcome of the elimination round, the Ford Field stadium has a seating capacity of 70,000.

“It’s another great chance to kind of demonstrate for the city of Detroit what’s going on here. It’s very important, because we’ve got a good story to tell,” Wagoner said during the unveiling of the logo.

The Final Four is scheduled on April 4 to 6, 2009 and the University of Detroit Mercy is the host school.
