		</div>
<p>PUNCH is a retail store located North of San Francisco, specialized in selling clothing for men and women, and was trying to appeal to to a broader demographic of customers (think the GAP store) when it approached <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/">Logo Design</a> Works to create a brand new <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/clothing-logos.htm">clothing logo design</a> for their brand.<br />
<span id="more-4031"></span><br />
PUNCH include a basic line, and further along the way, they would start to introduce more up-scale collections (think Banana Republic), as well as a baby, kids, and teen&#8217;s collection. The logo we would create would be in all their products (think polo by ralph lauren).</p>
<p>Competing against heavy hitters like Gap, Banana Republic, Polo, Old Navy, A&#038;F, American Eagle, etc., PUNCH had it&#8217;s work cut out. They needed to make an impact with their <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/branding.htm"title="Branding" >branding</a> starting with a fortune 500 <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/"title="Logo Design" >logo design</a>. They needed the logo to reflect the fact that PUNCH was ready to take on the big guns and provide high quality clothing. It had to have a timeless classic appeal to it while being modern at the same time. A tough ask, especially for such a modest budget. Our prices are quite competitive but because of our in depth knowledge of branding and <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/marketing-logos.htm"title="Marketing Logos" >marketing</a>, some times we do help our clients understand how their can structure their brand strategy based on the recommendations set forth from our initial design concepts.</p>
<p>The name PUNCH was inspired by the puppet Mr. Punch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punch_and_Judy) and the client wanted to see if the logo would include some of that history and bright colors mixed with something more classical (such as the <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/citywide-security-logo-brand-identity">shield logo</a> from the plaza hotel in NY). The client was not sure as to how to combine these two elements, but it is the basic idea they came to the table with and the story behind the branding and corporate image of Punch.</p>
<p>We created a series of designs for the client based on the Punch character but it transpired that the direction of Punch and Judy did not lend well to a company hoping to brand as a fortune 500 company. So, the client paid for additional concepts and wanted us to take an entirely different direction. They wanted us to focus more on the upscale brands and <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/top-10-online-boutique-logos">online boutique logos</a> of central London. After a little but of research, we came up with a few design concepts that included a double horned rhino and a superbly elegant font treatment.</p>
<p>The client immediately liked this direction and after a few minor tweaks finalized the logo design.</p>

			<a href="http://api.tweetmeme.com/share?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.logodesignworks.com%2Fblog%2Ftop-10-denim-logos"><br />
				<img src="http://api.tweetmeme.com/imagebutton.gif?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.logodesignworks.com%2Fblog%2Ftop-10-denim-logos&amp;style=normal&amp;b=2" height="61" width="50" /><br />
			</a>
		</div>
<p>Almost everyone in the United States wears denim on a regular basis, and most of these people also have a favorite denim brand. Some of this customer loyalty is due to the fit and cut of the jeans in question, but a lot of it is due to the power of the denim brand, including its <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/clothing-logos.htm">clothing logo design</a>. You probably see these <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/fashion-logos.htm">fashion logos</a> on pant pockets everywhere, because they represent some of the best in their field.<br />
<span id="more-3671"></span></p>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>1. Evisu <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/"title="Logo Design" >Logo Design</a> </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Evisu-logo-design.jpg" alt="Evisu Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> The central image of this logo design is a wavelike shape that gives a feeling of freedom and movement. This image is actually a stylized seagull that was hand painted by company founder Hidehiko Yamane. The name of the company is written below in bold, blocky letters that add weight to the flighty image. While creating your own logo rarely is a good idea, in this case the result is visually interesting and has brought the company immense success and renown. Don’t try this at home! </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>2. Lucky Brand Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Lucky-Brand-logo-design.jpg" alt="Lucky Brand Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This company recently went through a logo change, and the result is an ultra-modern and simple logo design that will be recognized by denim lovers everywhere. While there once was an image of a four-leaf clover, symbolizing luck, the logo now has only text. The wavy, ornate text gives a sense of both tradition and modernity, a fine line that few companies can safely walk. Because this paradox is particularly appropriate in the world of blue jeans, it is appropriate for this logo design. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>3. True Religion Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/True-Religion-logo-design.jpg" alt="True Religion Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> The religious reference in the name is bolstered by a logo design with a Buddha as the central image. However, the Buddha is happy, holding a guitar and giving a thumbs-up sign to viewers. The bold, blocky letters add seriousness to an otherwise entertaining image, while the bright red color draws the eye to the logo. This logo ties in to the brand name and offers a fun, memorable image while maintaining enough gravity to be taken seriously by the consumer. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>4. Diesel Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Diesel-logo-design.jpg" alt="Diesel Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> There is nothing mild or meek about this logo. First, a bold red color draws attention to the logo design. The square shape is as straightforward as you can get. The large white letters in all capitals are plain and written in a white color that contrasts with the red, creating a solid and substantial whole. This logo seems plain, but it is expressive nonetheless. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>5. Mavi Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Mavi-logo-design.jpg" alt="Mavi Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> Again we see a square, blocky logo, but this time with a very different meaning. First, the lower case letters are rounded for a friendly image. The square logo shape this time contains a calming blue color. The word ‘jeans’ is written in small letters to assert the brand’s main product. This friendly logo design is very similar to Diesel’s, yet with a very different emotional result. This differences serves to show the difference that color and font choice can make in the customer’s reaction to a logo. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>6. Ecko Unlimited Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Ecko-Unlimited-logo-design.jpg" alt="Ecko Unlimited Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> The central image of this logo design is a rhino shape, which holds great significance to this company. Not only did the designer’s father collect rhinoceroses throughout his life, the rhino represents the strong and determined image that the company wishes to project. A round shape surrounding the rhino adds a friendlier, more inclusive image, an impression that is reinforced by the rounded lower case letters. Again, a bright red color attracts attention and asserts dominance. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>7. 7 for All Mankind Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/7-for-All-Mankind-logo-design.jpg" alt="7 for All Mankind Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> A key part of the brand for this company is the artisan quality of their jeans along with ultra-modern styling. The logo expresses these brand values well. First, the logo appears to be hand drawn and filled in, with the company name written in cursive. This creates a very personalized, artisan image. Second, the lower case letters make the image friendly and approachable. The plain black and white color is simple and sophisticated while allowing all of the emphasis to remain on the logo itself. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>8. Armani Jeans Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Armani-Jeans-logo-design.jpg" alt="Armani Jeans Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> Armani Jeans is a good example of how a company can integrate a line into the parent brand without diminishing either. The name of the company is written in the signature Armani font, with a line separating the name from the brand’s initials written in the same writing. Unlike other lines of Armani, there are no images, however, allowing all of the attention to remain on the name. The black and white color palette is seen commonly in luxury clothing lines such as this, and again is used in the parent company as well. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>9. Mudd Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Mudd-logo-design.jpg" alt="Mudd Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This brand of jeans is most popular among teenage girls, offering stylish cuts at a value price. The logo is a good representative of the brand. The name of the company is written in a newspaper-like font, with images of a handprint, a heart, and a flower above to make the image more inviting to the target audience. The mud brown color is directly relevant to the name of the company, but also a very trendy color at the moment. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>1. L.E.I Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/L.E.I-logo-design.jpg" alt="L.E.I Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This company has a similar market as Mudd Jeans, but they approach their customers in a very different way. First, there are no images here. Instead of a serious, newsy font, a rounded one is shown in all lower case letters, creating a very friendly logo design. The words that the initials represent, ‘life’, ‘energy’, and ‘intelligence’, are written below the main wording. To add visual interest, the ‘e’ of the logo is angled so that it is on its side. Black and white colors make this logo ultra-modern, although still very friendly due to the round shapes and is no where near <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/the-levis-logo-timeless-appeal">The Levi&#8217;s Logo&#8217;s Timeless Appeal</a>. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
As you can see, these denim companies all have very different logos meant to express a diverse group of brands and appeal to an equally diverse range of customers. Because the effect of a logo design is primarily subconscious, many customers never realize why they are reaching for one pair of jeans over the ones next to them. The next time you buy a pair of jeans, you will be able to see exactly what logo design pull you in with their brand promise.

		</div>
<p>Think teens are the main audience? Then you haven’t looked around your local mall yet. Stores that cater to this brand oriented market are popping up almost overnight, and these young people are buying what they are selling. Tweens—the once childish preteen market—are now savvy consumers with a variety of clothing stores targeted specifically at them.<br />
 <span id="more-3531"></span><br />
What does this mean for <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/branding.htm"title="Branding" >branding</a>? The same way Barbie and Lego have been sold to this market, through logo branding and sophisticated <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/marketing-logos.htm"title="Marketing Logos" >marketing</a> schemes, clothing stores now must sell themselves. Here are the top ten brands for this market along with why their <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/clothing-logos.htm">clothing logos</a> are so effective. Please do not confuse this with the <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/top-10-teen-clothing-store-logos">top 10 teen clothing store logos</a>.</p>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>1. Limited Too Tween Clothing <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/"title="Logo Design" >Logo Design</a> </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Limited-Too-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Limited Too Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This is perhaps one of the top stores for tween girls, with a logo that is recognized in elementary and middle schools all over the United States. The blue of the logo is calming, while the yellow grabs attention. The writing is asymmetrical to appear more fun, while the logo that makes up the central image is perfect for a store marketing itself to girls of any age. In all, this logo is appropriate for the tweens cruising the mall as well as the parents who have to pull out the credit card. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>2. Justice Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Justice-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Justice Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This store has a tween-friendly hot pink and electric blue color palette. The writing is bubbly and friendly, while the ‘I’ is dotted with a heart, which is a common practice in this age group’s handwriting. This logo is simple, but that means it has the potential to capture the hearts of several generations of girls. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>3. American Girl Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/American-Girl-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="American Girl Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This store offers stylish but modest clothing for young girls, along with a twist: each garment can also be bought in doll sizes. This is because American Girl, while now a popular clothing brand among tween girls, is primarily a doll store. Nonetheless, the logo features newsy, straightforward print in a girl-friendly color of hot pink. A star in the center implies the star quality of the dolls as well as the girls who buy the company’s clothing. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>4. Abercrombie Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Abercrombie-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Abercrombie Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This is the pre-teen store owned by Abercrombie and Fitch, offering fashions inspired by the adult clothing line in sizes and cuts more appropriate for the younger market. The branding clearly ties Abercrombie in with the parent store. The name is written in the company’s signature font, but in navy blue rather than black and in all lower-case letters to be friendlier to a younger market. The moose, a well known icon of Abercrombie and Fitch, is the central image in this logo. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>5. 77 kids Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/77-kids-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="77 kids Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This is another pre-teen spin-off of a teen brand, in this case American Eagle Outfitters. 77 kids ties into the parent brand in a less obvious manner than most. Rather than an eagle, a smaller bird is the central image. The drab color scheme is replaced by a tween friendly bright blue and sage green. The writing is more flamboyant and appears to have been hand colored, giving this brand an injection of youth and fun. This combined with the affiliation of a well known older kids’ brand should make 77 kids a success in this market. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>6. P.S Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/P-S-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="P.S Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This tween clothing store is another pre-teen spin-off, this time from Aeropostale. The link to the parent company is clearer, however. While the letters of the store name are boldly displayed in bright blue, the words ‘from Aeropostale’ are written below, with Aeropostale written in the company’s signature font. The simplicity of the design will give this newly opening line of stores a good start in a competitive business. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>7. Razzberry Lips Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Razzberry-Lips-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Razzberry Lips Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> What does a girl need to go with all those stylish clothes? A line of makeup and accessories made just for tweens, along with (surprise) more stylish clothes. Razzberry Lips is the perfect store for all of the above, and their logo shows it. The circle is a friendly shape to little consumers, and the pink and purple colors are perfect for this age group. The yellow adds a modern touch while drawing attention to the logo. The pretty pink lips tie into the name, while a tiny heart dots an ‘I’. The company tagline below helps girls figure out what they will get at this store: a place ‘where girls can be girls’. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>8. Juvie Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Juvie-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Juvie Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This store offers boutique quality clothing for tweens only. The logo shows this with a sophisticated aqua and black color palette. The key shape is a friendly circle, while the lower case initial and extra dot add juvenile flair. A white star ties into the star dotting the eye of the name, while the tagline, ‘Clothing and gifts for older kids’, makes sure people know what size merchandise to expect. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>9. La Senza Girl Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/La-Senza-Girl-tween-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="La Senza Girl Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This logo may look simple, but there is more to it than meets the eye. The pink color palette is perfect for the tween girl, while the large block letters are substantial and eye catching. They also resemble the letters given for sportsmanship in high school, a coveted item. The letters are slightly slanted, which gives the logo a feeling of movement. There is no image, but the logo doesn’t really need one. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>10. Gap Kids Tween Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Gap-Kids-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Gap Kids Tween Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This division of the Gap has perhaps the simplest logo on this list, but nonetheless one that has been popular with this age group for decades. The blue is calming and yet timeless, while the font is simple. The color and font tie in to the parent brand—in fact, the only difference is the inclusion of the word ‘kids’. This allows brand loyal tweens to become brand loyal adults still buying Gap products. </div>
</div>
<p>There is a huge difference in the branding of different tween stores. Some go for an image more like that of the older teen, while others aim for a more youthful, age appropriate image. Either way, these ten are all winners because they use color, shape, and image to win over an audience known for being fickle and brand-conscious.</p>

			</a>
		</div>
<p>Perhaps no target customer is more brand-conscious than the teenager. Most teens have their favorite <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/clothing-logos.htm">clothing logos </a>and will wear the logo prominently displayed on every article of apparel they own if their allowance allows it. As you would expect, a store’s logo is crucial to success in this trend oriented <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/social-networking-key-to-winning-the-teens-market">teen market</a>. Here are ten clothing store logos that do a great job of appealing to the fickle adolescent consumer.<br />
<span id="more-3529"></span></p>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>1. PacSun Teen Clothing <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/"title="Logo Design" >Logo Design</a> </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/PacSun-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="PacSun Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> Pacific Sunwear, which in the past few years has been rebranded as PacSun, offers California casual clothing for the teen consumer. The logo portrays this with a sun yellow logo, casual font, and sun rays coming from behind the ‘S’. The line below the ‘S’ implies that the sun is setting on the water, which further promotes a Californian image. In all, this logo is simple but very effective at communicating a youthful, West coast style. For many teenagers, this lifestyle and image is an important selling point. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>2. Buckle Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Buckle-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Buckle Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This clothing line offers a simple logo that can be seen in malls all over the nation. The company name is written in a sophisticated gray in a very plain font. To the left, a letter B has been ingeniously designed to resemble a buckle, tying into the company name in two very different ways. The logo is a rounded square shape for a mixture of honesty and inclusiveness, and the dark red is modern yet eye catching. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>3. American Eagle Outfitters Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/American-Eagle-Outfitters-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="American Eagle Outfitters Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This company has a rather plain logo befitting an ‘outfitter’, but it is one that is worn by just about every American teenager. The name is written in a plain newsy font that suggests simplicity and honesty. An eagle image above the name refers to the company’s name as well. The blue and white color palette is both calming and simple enough to remain relevant through the years, even for this ever changing demographic. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>4. Hollister Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Hollister-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Hollister Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This is another California casual brand, although it offers a slightly more vintage feel than PacSun. The company does most of its <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/marketing-logos.htm"title="Marketing Logos" >marketing</a> through teenagers actually wearing the clothing, which makes the logo crucial to success. The name is written in serious square letters with a seagull above to imply a beach-y lifestyle. The word California is written below to communicate the style of the clothing. This is a simple but effective logo that markets itself wisely to the younger generation. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>5. Delia’s Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Delias-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Delia’s Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> Although Delia’s primarily focuses on catalog and internet sales, it has a logo that is mall-worthy. The logo is designed to be shown in a variety of colors, which makes it versatile enough to stand the test of time and trend. One of the most noticeable parts of the logo is that the name is written with a jumble of upper and lower case letters, which adds a fun, unconventional touch. The other key part of the logo is the starburst that makes up the apostrophe, which implies the stardom and celebrity that are important values to the younger generation. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>6. Torrid Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Torrid-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Torrid Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> With the numbers of obese and overweight teens rising, this plus sized fashion store is gaining prominence and brand recognition. The logo plays up the youthfulness and sex appeal of the clothing rather than its size, with a hot pink color palette and a flaming heart in the background. The name of the store is written in large, cursive print, while the words ‘plus sizes’ are in much smaller letters at the bottom. The message is that plus sized girls are girls first, with needs for fashion and validation that are just as strong as their smaller classmates. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>7. Aeropostale Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Aeropostale-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Aeropostale Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This oddly named store (it means ‘air mail’ in French) has become somewhat of a cultural phenomenon in the United States. The logo is straightforward, with the name written in deep blue in a rather plain font without serifs. A line above and below the name adds to the serious rectangular shape, while the red triangle that forms the accent over the first ‘E’ functions both as a common symbol of strength and a small airplane, tying into the name. This red also offers a little more interest, setting the brand apart from the many out there using a plain blue and white color palette. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>8. Journeys Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Journeys-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Journeys Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> Need a pair of sneakers to go with that t-shirt? Journey’s is just the place to go. This shoes and more store is a popular place to buy just about every item of apparel available. However, the focus remains on shoes. The logo is written in graffiti style writing to appeal to young urban shoppers, and the ‘O’ in the name is drawn to look like a compass with arrows. This not only ties into the name, it also conveys a feeling of movement that is valuable to this market. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>9. Armani Exchange Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Armani-Exchange-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Armani Exchange Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> This reasonably priced and youthful line from couture king Giorgio Armani has gained huge popularity among teens who want a piece of the icon at a price they can afford. The Armani Exchange logo shows this alliance with the younger consumer. First, the initials rather than the name take center stage. Second, a line between the two letters offers a modern, edgy look. To maintain the brand, the thin, serifed font used by Giorgio Armani’s ready to wear line is the font used here as well. </div>
</div>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>10. Gap Teen Clothing Logo Design </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/Gap-teen-clothing-logo-design.jpg" alt="Gap Teen Clothing Logo Design" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc"> What logo could be more iconic than that of the Gap? Despite decades of use, teens continue to shop in these stores and proudly display merchandise bearing the rather plain logo. With the name written in thin white news-print style letters across a calming deep blue background, there isn’t a lot about the Gap logo to discuss. However, its simplicity and high recognition make it a clear winner. </div>
</div>
<p>What do these logos have in common? Very little! Teens are constantly trying on new identities, and what appeals to them one day might not be as popular tomorrow. One thing is for certain: these ten brand logos have an appeal that is likely to keep young people walking through their doors for years to come. </p>

<p><strong>Designer Fever: 10 Clothing Logos and Why You Are Wearing Them </strong></p>
<p>Have you ever wondered why you and so many others are drawn to certain <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/clothing-logos.htm">clothing logos</a>? It might be the style or the quality, or even what celebrities happen to be wearing the brand at the same time. However, at least part of a brand’s appeal lies in logo <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/branding.htm"title="Branding" >branding</a>. <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/fashion-logos.htm">Fashion logos</a> makes a statement about the brand and the people who wear it. Recently I wrote an article called <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/top-10-online-boutique-logos">Top 10 Online Boutique Logos</a>. Here are a few iconic brands with <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/iconic-logos-vs-illustrative-logos">iconic logos</a> you just can’t stop wearing.<br />
<span id="more-3078"></span><br />
<!-- PORTFOLIO ITEM ENTRY --></p>
<div class="portfolio-item">
<h3><span>1. Chanel </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/chanel-logo-design.jpg" alt="Chanel Clothing &#038; Fashion Logo" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc">
What’s so important about this fashion logo? It includes two intertwined C’s with the first C turned so that it is backward. Although merely a stylized rendition of the founder’s initials, it is perhaps one of the most widely recognized logo in the fashion world. Part of this effect is due to <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/branding.htm">logo branding</a>, as the logo is present on every item that leaves this famous house of fashion, from perfumes to accessories to haute couture. Coco Chanel was known for putting a unique spin on classic clothing items, and this logo represents that image well.

<h3><span>2. Polo Ralph Lauren </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/polo-ralph-lauren-logo-design.jpg" alt="Polo Ralph Lauren Clothing &#038; Fashion Logo" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc">
Polo is just one of this famous clothing designer’s clothing lines, but it is the most recognizable. This is likely due in part to the effective logo of this brand. The logo features a polo player on his pony in the midst of a polo game, tying directly to the name of the clothing line. Because the game of polo is generally associated with upper class British sensibilities, the polo player gives the brand a sporty yet chic image. Polo Ralph Lauren is a good example of effective logo branding because the graphic is included on almost every item made by the company, yet it doesn’t feel overused or passé.
</div>

<!-- PORTFOLIO ITEM ENTRY --></p>

<h3><span>3. Louis Vuitton </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/louis-vuitton-logo-design.jpg" alt="Louis Vuitton Clothing &#038; Fashion Logo" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc">
Louis Vuitton’s logo features a simple L and V, with crisp serifs and the ‘L’ slanted to align with the V. It’s hard to understand exactly what makes this logo so powerful, except perhaps for its simplicity and high recognition. I t has been a vital piece of the luxury fashion house’s logo branding for decades, while retaining its appeal and high end image. This logo must be successful, because it is the most copied and counterfeited logo in the world.

<h3><span>4. Givenchy </span></h3>

<div class="portfolio-desc">
The Givenchy logo features four G’s turned so that they create a square with details reminiscent of Celtic designs. The logo is symmetrical and recognizable, yet clearly ties in to the company name. It represents the sharp edges and extreme fashion for which this fashion house is known.

<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/tommy-hilfiger-logo-design.jpg" alt="Tommy Hilfiger Clothing &#038; Fashion Logo" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc">
Tommy Hilfiger is generally thought of as an all-American brand, and this logo does a great job of presenting that image. The logo is in a rectangular shape that is almost identical to that of the American flag. It also shares a color palette. Although there are clear differences in design, it’s easy to see that this design house wanted their logo branding to present a classic, patriotic image.

<div class="portfolio-desc">
This brand is one of the hottest labels among young women, and the logo is designed to appeal to this audience. The logo includes two small dogs that appear to be holding a crest with heart and the words ‘Love P &#038; G’, with the letters being the initials of the two founders of the brand. An ornate crown is above the crest while the name of the brand is in a scroll beneath. The inclusion of objects that appeal to a brand’s target audience is one example of good logo branding.

<h3><span>7. Versace </span></h3>

<div class="portfolio-desc">
Gianni Versace wanted a classic yet distinctive logo for his brand of haute couture, and the Versace logo hits the mark. This designer logo features Medusa, who is perhaps the best known and most dangerous classical character. This logo branding gives the brand an archetypal yet edgy image that is seductive to fashion lovers of all ages and walks of life. Best of all, the Versace logo is different from almost every other logo, making it an effective and distinctive choice for this company.

<h3><span>8. Lacoste </span></h3>

<div class="portfolio-desc">
People all over the world recognize the tiny crocodile adorning many a shirt, but few of them realize the origin of this <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/lacoste-logo-making-style-statement-with-an-alligator">Lacoste logo design</a> or its power in logo branding. Lacoste is named after the company’s founder, French tennis player Rene Lacoste. Because this athlete was nicknamed ‘The Crocodile’ by the press, the reptile seemed a fitting logo. According to the Lacoste company, the tiny alligator on the left side of Lacoste’s original collared shirt was the first time a logo was worn on the outside of a garment. Since then, it has become a symbol of luxury to fashion lovers everywhere.

<h3><span>9. GAP </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/gap-logo-design.jpg" alt="GAP Clothing &#038; Fashion Logo" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc">
The GAP is one of the most popular stores in the United States, appealing to a wide variety of people from all walks of life. This logo wins for simplicity, with the name of the company in capital letters against a blue background. The simple logo has allowed this iconic clothing store to keep the same logo for years without appearing dated or old-fashioned. It also allows logo branding, as the font and colors are used consistently throughout the store and its advertisements.

<h3><span>10. Brooks Brothers </span></h3>
<div class="portfolio-image"><img class="image-left float-left" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/images/brooks-brothers-logo-design.jpg" alt="Brooks Brothers Clothing &#038; Fashion Logo" /></div>
<div class="portfolio-desc">
This is the oldest men’s clothier in the United States, and as such the logo features a timeless color scheme and an ancient graphic. The logo features a dark blue background and gold lettering with a sheep hanging suspended in a ribbon to the left of the company name. This logo graphic is actually a symbol of British wool sellers that dates back to the fifteenth century and relates to the classical myth of Jason and the Argonauts. While many people aren’t aware of the symbolism behind the graphic, it nonetheless is a potent image that offers many opportunities for logo branding.
</div>
</div>
<p><!-- END OF PORTFOLIO ITEM ENTRY --></p>
<p>As you can see, a successful company’s logo is not chosen randomly, but selected carefully to make a statement that will draw in customers. These logos aren’t merely part of their brand, they are the brand. If you want your company to enjoy the same success and renown, having a <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/logo-design-team.htm">logo design team</a> create a logo for you is the first step.</p>

<p><strong>Bring In Sales with a Unique Boutique Logo</strong></p>
<p>Do you own a boutique? Whether you are selling haute couture, funky alternative jewelry, or upscale children’s clothing, your boutique has almost no chance of success without a high quality, <strong>unique boutique logo</strong>. Because corporate <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/branding.htm"title="Branding" >branding</a> is one of the biggest indicators of <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/business-consultant-logos.htm"title="Small Business Consultant Logo" >small business</a> success, this is no room for a ready made logo from a free <a href="http://web.logodesignworks.com/"title="Website Design" >website</a> or a do-it-yourself <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/"title="Logo Design" >logo design</a> job. A design agency can create the boutique logo or <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/fashion-logos.htm">fashion logo</a> you need, one that communicates what your business is all about. Here is a rough outline of the design process.<br />
<span id="more-2242"></span><br />
<strong>Step one: Choose your design agency.</strong> You don’t want just any design agency, but one with a stable of experienced employees and a long track record of producing unique logos for other companies. Avoid agencies that appear as though they outsource to freelancers, because their quality usually doesn’t match that of companies that use long-term employees. Your agency ideally should have a strong web presence as well as a physical office location. Once you have chosen the perfect design agency for your logo or <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/clothing-logos.htm">clothing logos</a>, your graphic designer will contact you to work on step two.</p>
<p><strong>Step two: Consult with your design agency.</strong> A boutique logo is not an island; it is the public face of your <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/branding.htm">corporate branding strategy</a>. This means that your design agency will need to know about your company and your vision for its future. This level of individuality is one of the key differences between a ready made logo and one tailored to your boutique. The only way for your design agency to design a boutique logo that is perfect for you is for the graphic designer to discover what makes you tick.</p>
<p><strong>Step three: Boutique logo creation.</strong> Once your design agency has relevant information about your company, they will work to develop the logo you need to take your business to the next level. Depending on the level of package you chose, you may be given several logo concepts to choose from and even be able to have them revised until they are a perfect match for your boutique’s energy.</p>
<p><strong>Step four: Branding.</strong> Although your boutique logo has been created to your exact specifications, this is only the beginning. Your next step should be to hire the same design agency to use the logo as part of a corporate branding strategy for your company. Everything about your company, from ads to letterhead to in-store merchandising, should be created to tie in to your logo. Your design agency can help you develop a color theme for your premises and make sure customers feel like they know you. This connection is what makes a boutique logo so successful, and it is what will keep those customers coming back.</p>
<p>As you can see, developing your logo is not the end of the process, but the beginning. You will need business cards, logos, flyers, advertisements, signs, and even a website that helps promote your brand. This will not only help your boutique thrive; it will make it iconic. In a competitive market, a corporate branding strategy that ties in to a unique logo is the most likely recipe for success.</p>

The website is a little hard to navigate but the product range and offerings are quite impressive.

<p>Smarts Dance Dress | <a title="Clothing Logo Design" href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/clothing-logos.htm">Clothing Logos</a> | <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/iconic-logos-vs-illustrative-logos">Illustrative Logos</a> | Guangzhou, China</p>
<p>Project Summary: A dance dress manufacturing company located in China came to <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/"title="Logo Design" >Logo Design</a> Works to create a logo design for them to help them launch the company internationally. Smarts designs and manufactures dance related dresses including formal, children wear and dance uniforms. After successfully becoming one of the dominant dance dress manufacturers in China, Smarts wanted to expand their costumes export business to the United States and Europe.<br />
<span id="more-899"></span><br />
<a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/smarts-old.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-900" style="margin-left: 20px; margin-right: 20px;" title="smarts-old" src="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/smarts-old.jpg" alt="" width="177" height="64" /></a>This was a tough project because our <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/">logo designer</a> was not sure how to represent the company. Smarts already had a brand that was created 10 years ago. The client wanted the designers to use elements from the <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/new-brand-vs-old-brand"title="" >old brand</a> logo into the new one. This was challenging because the <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/old-logo-designs"title="Old Logo Design" >old logo</a> had an icon that looked like a boat with sails. When we asked the client, we were told that it was in fact a dancer!</p>
<p>After some back and forth with the client, which was a little challenging because the client was in China and communication was a little difficult in English. However, we finally managed to convince the client that the old logo and the elements that were supposed to be a dancer had no place in the <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/new-brand-vs-old-brand"title="" >new brand</a> strategy.</p>
<p>We then proceeded to create an elegant line art logo design of a ballroom couple dancing. Couples with an elegant font treatment, we managed to create the perfect logo design for Smarts. The client was quite thrilled with the final logo and are in the process of re<a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/branding.htm"title="Branding" >branding</a> and expanding their overseas export business.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/"title="Logo Design" >Logo Design</a> Project Summary: A clothing company looking to create a unique <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/brand-identity-vs-brand-image"title="" >brand image</a> by having a Crawfish in it&#8217;s brand label. CrawKids caters to children, right from 0 to 14 year olds. When the client came to <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/">Logo Design</a> Works, they wanted to &#8220;stand out&#8221; kind of <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/brand-identity-vs-brand-image"title="" >brand identity</a>.<br />
<span id="more-892"></span><br />
Utilizing a stylized drawing of a crawfish, the logo design was unique enough and yet related to the company name. Since the client wanted to use the logo not only the designer labels on the clothes but also on merchandising such as <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/custom-t-shirt-design">custom t-shirt designs</a>, caps, bags etc.</p>
<p>But not following the trend &#8211; usually demure and subtle font treatments that the local competition were using, Crawkids was able to create brand awareness straight away. Further more, it was able to communicate directly to its target market of young children aged 0 to 14.</p>

<p>The role of <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/old-navy-unveils-new-logo-design">logo design</a> is expanding as more and more businesses compete for the attention of consumers. In essence, logo has grabbed the spotlight in the <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/branding.htm"title="Branding" >branding</a> world. A very dramatic display of such phenomenon lies in the apparel industry. </p>
<p><span id="more-685"></span></p>
<p>If you don’t believe me, just look outside your window and see the different <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/clothing-logos.htm">clothing logos</a>. Do you see any pattern? Those who are old enough know that these symbols are more exposed than they were 20 or 30 years ago. In those days, most <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/"title="Logo Design" >logo design</a>s of different brands are usually hidden on the inside of the collar. It later evolved to small logos on the chest just like <a href="http://www.logodesignworks.com/blog/ralph-lauren-loses-%e2%80%9cdouble-horsemen%e2%80%9d-logo-dispute">Ralph Lauren’s horseman logo</a> and Lacoste’s crocodile logo. </p>
<h2>The rise of supersized logo design </h2>
<p>The early 90s mark the dramatic scaling-up of logos. Perhaps the Tommy Hilfiger brand is the most fitting example of this trend where logos are really bloated. Even RL’s horseman logo is generally bigger these days. Consumers have become walking billboards of brands from head to toe. </p>
<h2>Branding and culture</h2>
<p>More than the size adjustment of logos, there’s a deeper shift in branding strategy. A brand is no longer a product but an idea or a set of values. Kodak is not selling cameras but memories. Nike is not just an athletic shoes company but a symbol of greatness. iPod is no longer an MP3 player but a lifestyle. </p>
