American District Telegraph or ADT was formed in 1874 by bringing together 57 telegraph delivery companies. By 1910 ADT had become a part of Western Union and then AT&T had entered the home security solutions erena and developed security systems. By 1974, ADT turned 100 years old and entered into computer based automated security solutions. By 1981, ADT introduced SafeWatch Residential Security system. Today ADT is the leading home security solution provider. In the 1990s ADT moved from Parsippany, N.J. to Boca Raton, Florida and changed its name to ADT Security Services Inc.

ADT has offices in 200 communities throughout North America and is a provider of electronic security services to more than six million commercial, government and residential customers throughout North America.

The ADT security logo design is a simple text based logo that sports the letters ADT enclosed by a light blue polygon. The home security logo design has remained pretty much the same for quite a few years now. It is robust, simple and best of all easy to brand on the various security equipment such as the bell box on the outside of homes that we see, the CCTV cameras and more.

For a security company, I would have preferred to see the ADT logo updated to some thing more in tune with the time – such as using a shield etc to hint at security and protection. We created the City Wide Security Company logo using a modern Web 2.0 logo style of a shield.

I looked at other residential security company logos such as GE Security, SVAT, Dakota Alert, DSC Honeywell, Visonic, Optext, Rokonet, Linear Security, ELK, Winland Electronics, X10, ADEMCO, USP and Altronix and realized that most of them had ordinary logo designs. Nothing really jumped out at me.

Citywide Security Group provides contract security guard service as well as private investigations. Located in Chicago, Illinois, CityWide Group ensures their clients get high quality and reliable security service.

Target Market:
They work with property management companies, retail establishments that use security guards, attorney’s, individuals looking to hire private investigators for cheating spouses etc.

Design Review:
The client wanted a clean iconic type of design possibly focusing on a shield type of icon. The design had to look modern, have a 3D logo design style, show strength and look cool. The client also had a specific logo color palette that we needed to consider.

We created a number of logo concepts for this client which included emblem style logos, font treatment, circular badge type icons, abstract shield icons and other styles. The client liked the 3D logo icon shield that our logo design team created.

Logo as Car Wrap:
The client had a car wrap created with the logo design that we created and it looks stunning.

Stationery Design for the client:
Since the client had selected the PLATINUM Brand Package, after the logo design was completed, we moved forward to create matching Business Card Design, letterhead and envelope design.

The client was looking for a clean, professional and high impact website design.
