North Carolina offers many unique features that other states do not have. The state is made of three regions consisting of the coastal plain, the Piedmont and the Appalachian mountains. The states three regions offer many features that could inspire unique North Carolina logo designs.

North Carolina’s coastal plain consists of several sandy islands known as the “Outer Banks.” There are two sounds in this area, the Albemarle Sound and the Pamlico Sound. There grass here is intensely green which compliments the black and white style of the Bodie Island Lighthouse in the Outer Banks. The coastal plain produces tobacco, soybeans and cotton.

The Piedmont region is where the coastal plain meets the fall line. This area is very urban and has the state’s five largest cities. The countryside consists of rolling hills and low mountains. The Appalachian region is in the western part of the state and consists of the Smoky Mountains, the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Black Mountains. The Black Mountains are the highest mountains in the eastern part of the US.

North Carolina was once home of many different Native American Indian tribes. The Cherokee are the only civilized tribe in North Carolina and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians were federally recognized in 1868. There are several other tribes consisting of the Haliwa-Saponi, Waccamaw Siouan, Coharie, Sappony and the Meherrin. The area is rich in Native American culture and many logo design ideas can be brought out of that culture.

North Carolina has a large agricultural sector that produces poultry and eggs, tobacco, hogs, milk, nursery stock, cattle, sweet potatoes and soybeans. The industrial sector of the state produces textiles, chemicals, electrical equipment, paper and paper products.
