South Carolina Logo Design Company
South Carolina is bounded by North Carolina and Georgia. The state has a history of being the epitome of “Southern” and there have been many racial disputes in the state. To this day, the Confederate flag may even be seen at many government offices. This has also led to a large amount of controversy.
South Carolina has four distinct regions with the lower part of the state being the Coastal Plain or the Lowlands. This area contains excellent farmland and the coast contains many salt marshes as well as natural ports. There are also a large number of bays in the area. West of the Coastal Plain is the Sand Hills Region and contains many old coastal dunes. The upstate region is the Piedmont and contains an ancient mountain chain. The land is hilly, thin, stony clay and is not very suitable for farming. There is also a fall line in the Piedmont where the rivers drop to the coastal plain producing many waterfalls. The highest elevations in the state are upstate and include a small part of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Chattooga River is a very popular whitewater-rafting destination. The state also contains several national parks and historic sites.
The state has a large agricultural industry producing tobacco, poultry, cattle, dairy, soybeans and hogs. The state’s industrial outputs include textile goods, chemical products, paper products, machinery and tourism.
The state also has very strict alcohol laws. The state adheres to the “Blue Laws” and does not allow the sale of alcohol on Sunday. Bars within a certain distance of a church are not allowed to sell hard liquor and before 2006, bars were not allowed to server hard liquor that was poured from “free-pour” bottles and had to stock mini-bottles. It is also illegal to be “grossly intoxicated” and the police may arrest a person for disorderly conduct if they believe they are grossly intoxicated. There is, however, no legal definition of a grossly intoxicated pedestrian. Gross intoxication is a misdemeanor offense.
The state has been home to several famous people throughout its history including James Brown, John C. Calhoun, Chubby Checker, Pat conroy, Reverend Gary Davis, Andy Dick, Larry Doby, Joe Frazier, Kevin Garnett, Leeza Gibbons, Althea Gibson, Dizzy Gillespie, Andrew Jackson, Jesse Jackson, Andie McDowell, Shaq, William Perry, John Phillips, Jim Rice, Chris Rock, Darius Rucker, Strom Thurmond, Melanie Thorton, Aaron Tippin, Vanna White and Maurice Williams.
South Carolina is very traditional and conservative; this is most likely from the state’s strong ties to the confederacy. The state offers many features that are excellent for use in your South Carolina logo design.
