Vermont’s main features include the Green Mountains and Lake Champlain. Vermont is also known for their “mud season” in the spring. The summers in Vermont are mild and make great lake weather while the autumns are gorgeous with the fall foliage in the Green Mountains. The winters are very cold and the annual snowfall ranges between 60 to 100 inches depending on elevation. Vermont also has some of the best cross-country and downhill ski areas.

Vermont is one of the few states that consistently brands itself. The state has been increasingly branding itself through the sale of artisan foods, fancy foods and novelty items that have the Vermont brand. Other specialty items being exported by the state include Cabot Cheese, the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, Vermont Butter and Cheese Company, several microbreweries, ginseng growers, Burton Snowboards, Lake Champlain Chocolates, King Arthur Flour, and Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream. The Agency of Agriculture, Food and Markets have the highest dairy standards in the US and compare to that of France. Dairy farming is the main agricultural income in the state.

Vermont is popular both in the winter and the spring. The winter features world-class snow skiing at many world-class ski resorts. Summer camps also contribute to the economy. Other outdoor activities include trout fishing, lake fishing and even ice fishing. The Long Trail also draws a large crowd of hiking enthusiasts. Vermont also holds several horse shows and annual events. Golf courses and spas are also becoming increasingly popular.

Vermont holds many festivals through out the year. These festivals include Vermont Maple Festival, the Enosburg Falls Diary Festival, the Apple Festival, the Marlboro Music Festival, and the Vermont Mozart Festival. The Vermont Symphony Orchestra and the Poetry Society of Vermont are also very popular in the state.

A unique fact of Vermont is that they were the last state to get a Wal-Mart, as of June 2006 they still do not have a Lowe’s and they are the only state without a MacDonald’s restaurant or big box store within the capital’s city limits.

Vermont has an interesting economy and they encourage small businesses that will carry on the Vermont brand. The best way to get ahead in the Vermont economy is to incorporate Vermont in your logo design. The state is very natural and historic and branding your business in the Vermont name will help your business establish itself as a Vermont business.
