Virginia Logo Design

Virginia is a very historical state. The state was one of the original thirteen colonies and is known as the “Mother of Presidents.” The state has been the birthplace of eight US presidents including George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor, and Woodrow Wilson. Four of the first presidents of the US were from Virginia as were seven of the first twelve presidents. Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and West Virginia were all once a part of the colony of Virginia and can be incorporated into the Virginia Logo Design.

Virginia is divided into five regions including the Ridge and Valley, Shenandoah Valley, Blue Ridge Mountains, Piedmont and Tidewater. The Shenandoah Valley is often referred to as a region of its own. Virginia has many sources of state income. The southern part of Virginia includes military installations, cattle, tobacco and peanuts. The northern part of the state includes software, communications, consulting, defense contracting, diplomats, and other components of the government sector. Coal mining was very popular in southwest Virginia, especially during the 18th and 19th centuries. Gold mining was also one a significant part of the economy.

The state bird of Virginia is the Cardinal and the state dog is the American Foxhound. The state’s nickname is Old Dominion. The state tree and state flower is the Dogwood. A unique symbol of the state is the state bat-the Virginia Big-Eared Bat. The state no longer has a state song as “Carry Me Back to Old Virginny” as found to be racially offensive. The state fish is the Brook Trout and the state shell is the oyster.

The state has a rich history as one of the first colonies in the United States. The state has contributed to the government in all of the years since it’s original inception. The state is very large and businesses beginning there will have to establish themselves through a strong brand. Your Vermont logo design could incorporate many features of the state including the state’s history of presidents and the natural beauty of the landscape.
