Design Analysis: Jotoni Clothing label describes itself as “Urban chic vintage skate”. Started by a visionary entrepreneur, Jotoni aims to bridge the gap between streetwear and upscale brands. With a powerful name that brings together two words to mean “ruler/strength and happiness”, this clothing brand is set to take the NY fashion scene by storm.

The challenge was to create an elegant brand and logo design that would bridge the gap between the opposite ends of the fashion spectrum – urban streetwear and high-end fashion. To make this happen we decided to create an abstract icon based on the name itself. We created a crown and shield crest coupled with a friendly font that gives a chic yet playful vibe.

Right in the center of the icon is the letter J which was customized to represent J and T from the name. The result is a beautiful, powerful yet friendly brand mark!

Design Analysis: Aquiliq is an apparel brand and fashion business. They are crafting a lifestyle brand that may offer a variety of concepts such as streetwear style clothing, or one that is more directed towards urban pop-culture concepts all using the underlying brand as a model.

We created the brand name Aquiliq – based on the Latin word for “Eagle” which carried Zeus/Jupiter’s thunderbolts. Also referred to a constellation that was mentioned in the Exodus in the 4th century BC, which lies in the Milky Way and contains many rich star fields and has been the location of many novae. An apt brand name for a company that delivers great service or products.

The logo design shows an eagle and thunderbolts both referencing the above concepts. A stunning iconic logo design that is quite memorable.

Inspired by their families that technology should also be simple, elegant, and touching, their apply their knowledge in creating products, bags, which relate fashion and technology in such a way that ensures wearability and functionality for daily use.

Their mission is to fit the right technology into wearable fashion that is actually stylish and match the user’s personality and make life more exciting. They are redefining how technology can incorporate into people’s daily life in a simple and elegant way.

To help this brand express their vision and the fact that technology meets fashion meets luxury we created an crest based emblem logo design that simply looks stunning. In the logo icon one can see a shield enclosing a gadget – perhaps a tablet or a phone. On the top is a little abstract crown and the shield is flanked by swirls that bring elegance to this brand identity.

Design Analysis: Red Trail Unlimited is a hipster clothing brand that aims to take the hipster market segment by a storm. Hipsters are people who enjoy clothing, music, food and activities considered to be outside of the social mainstream.

They are keen on pursuing the hipster lifestyle in which independent music labels, vintage clothes, and artisanal coffee.

SpellBrand decided to take a very strong visual approach. To do this we chose the Giant Alaskan Moose Skull skull as the icon. The Moose is an interesting and unique looking animal and really represents the wild and exotic nature of the brand.

Design Analysis: This awesome clothing brand produces clothing, hats, scarfs, shoes, handbags, jewelry and more. The client wanted a nice symbol that would match the name and the aspirations of their target audience.

The icon shows the letter V in a circle. The letter and the circle both have incomplete section to them to indicate that the brand completes their customers lives and fulfils them. This is a nice brand story that aligns perfectly with how their target market looks at life.

The client wanted to make a bold statement. Since they are a different kind of ministry they wanted to steer clear of the norm. This meant we could not use any of the traditional church-related symbols or imagery. So we decided to focus on the typography and add a design element integrated with the acronym. We chose to use angel wings and a halo on top of the word ACTS. This clearly focuses the message on the holy and divine nature of the ministry’s mission and values.

Design Analysis: Knelvet is a dynamic and adventurous hat company with a passion for creating hats based on innovation and unlike other hats, lower the amount of static and changes of messing up ones hair when taking hat off. They strive to empower and inspire their customers as they wear their hats and accessories and support their passion to end the human sex trade industry.

Knelvet’s ideal customers are trendsetters and prefer quality over value. They also rather have a garment that catch the eye over saving money on garments. Some one who is interested in the fashion world and understand the clothing brand landscape.

Design Analysis: Jacob Madison designs young men and adults apparel. They are an up and coming preppy/urban clothing company (ie. Marc Ecko: cut & sew, Abercrombie & fitch, express). The client wanted a symbol that has an urban feel to it yet a sense of class and elegance. A symbol that has a strong, bold feel to it yet is easy to the eyes. They are very open to taking risks and crossing the lines of fashion, so they wanted a symbol that will bring that out to the world.

This is true for urban and streetwear brands, Christian clothing brands, and others.  While the cut of the clothing, the quality of materials, and the way it fits in with current trends is important, your brand is perhaps the most important aspect.
